Introduction
I have been deeply involved with K-12 education for 45 years as a teacher, administrator, adjunct professor of education, and consultant. I have observed a common pattern in the implementation of new programs like the Common Core State Standards and Technology Integration. The professional development provided prior to implementation generally does a good job of informing teachers about the program being implemented. Teachers are then expected to develop units and lessons to implement the program in the classroom. There is usually a problem at this point. The teachers don’t generally have the necessary knowledge, and time to find the resources that would make their units and lessons more effective and engaging.
Throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, one of my responsibilities was to align available technology-based resources to specific curriculum standards in order to facilitate the production of high-quality units and lessons.
I plan to use this blog to provide teachers with easy to use resources in pedagogy, content, and ideas to implement high-quality distance learning experiences for blended or flipped learning. I will continue to update the materials that I share.
